4am on a freezing Saturday morning in August we headed up to High Street Preston where we recorded in a converted shop front full of pianos.
For Vision we used one of the most unique recording approaches on the whole album. We removed the backs of three pianos, placed a microphone inside each and jammed the sustain pedals down. The piano strings then resonated as we sang, filling the room with each note.
I discovered this trio via one of its members' side project called Oliver White; and I felt in love with the singer's voice instantly. Along with the right amount of minimalism and complexity, the album is beautiful and heartfelt. j
