about

On the 1st of November Aluka will release the first single ‘Keep My Cool’ off of their highly anticipated debut album to be released in March 2013.

The single ‘Keep My Cool’ is a high energy, tongue-ever-so-slightly-in-cheek pop song about the affects that attraction can have on a very sane human. The song was recorded in a Melbourne stairwell one freezing morning in August and reflects the theme of Alukas debut album.

Each song on the album was recorded and produced by Nick Huggins (Kid Sam and Oscar & Martin) in an unconventional space in Melbourne including a public swimming pool, a barn, a world war II bunker to name a few. These locations, teamed with Nick’s innovative microphone choices and recording techniques, have resulted in an engaging and multidimensional final product that reflects and compliments the creativity and individuality that Aluka’s music holds.

The single film clip was produced by Melbourne film artist and choreographer Alice Glenn (Otouto and Hello Satellites).

Aluka are releasing ‘Keep My Cool’ on the 7th of November at The Toff in Town and on the 9th in Sydney at The Newsagency.
