Keep My cool was recorded in a stairwell in Hawthorn. Ironically the stariwell is above a recoding studio. Choosing to record in the dark, cold and lifeless space when there was a fully equipped recording studio a few metres away nicely demonstrates the concet of our album.
We were rewarded for our choice of the stairwell, as the concrete steps, high ceilings and outside atmospheric sounds give the song the largeness and charm it deserves.
I discovered this trio via one of its members' side project called Oliver White; and I felt in love with the singer's voice instantly. Along with the right amount of minimalism and complexity, the album is beautiful and heartfelt. j
