We spent the day recording on a farm in Whittlesea. After a cup of tea by the fire, we set off around the farm to find the perfect space to spend our day. In the end, our producer Nick Huggins chose the green shed with the big red tractor. The persisting rain and farm animals noise injected some magic into the recording however the loud hicken pecking on the side of the shed was not what we were after. Annabelle told the chickens she’s put them in a pie so then they stopped. All three Aluka members can speak fluent chicken.
I discovered this trio via one of its members' side project called Oliver White; and I felt in love with the singer's voice instantly. Along with the right amount of minimalism and complexity, the album is beautiful and heartfelt. j
